The next meeting is on January 7. This is a Scheduled Meeting of the Sheridan County Planning & Zoning Commission, to be held at 5:30 p.m.

Due to Courthouse construction, the meeting will be held at Sheridan College CTEL Presentation Hall, 3059 Coffeen Avenue, Sheridan, WY.

Board Of County Commissioners


The Board of County Commissioners announced on October 21, 2008, that it would consider amendment of the Sheridan County Subdivision Resolution at a public hearing on December 19, 2008. That meeting is postponed until Monday, December 22, 2008. It will be held in the District Courtroom, located on the third floor of the new addition to the County Courthouse. The meeting will be called to order at 9:00 a.m. with a hearing on this item and other matters. All interested parties are invited to attend this public hearing to present oral comment, or to send written comments to the Commissioners at 224 S. Main Street, Suite B1, Sheridan WY 82801, prior to this date.


Amendment of the Resolution is proposed to allow revised language in (1) Section 2.7, b.xi and xii to reflect current statutory provisions pertaining to on-lot sewage and/or wells; (2) add paragraph xxii to Section 2.7, c., providing for studies evaluating water supply systems proposed for subdivisions and adequacy and safety of such systems, DEQ review of such studies, exemption from such studies and review, and minimum study content; (3) add paragraph xxiii to Section 2.7, c. providing for studies evaluating the sewage system proposed for subdivisions and the adequacy and safety of systems, DEQ review of such studies, exemption from such studies and review, and minimum study content; and (4) add Appendix G, Special Flood Hazard Areas; add Appendix H, Class 5 Groundwater Vulnerability Areas.


In addition, the Subdivision Resolution shall henceforth be titled"Rules and Regulations Governing Division of Land in Sheridan County, Wyoming."All references within the document to Sheridan County Subdivision Resolution and/or SCSR shall be referred to simply as "Rules."


The proposed changes meet minimum substantive state statutory requirements.The proposed amendment is posted on the county website at www.sheridancounty.com.Paper copies of CountyResolution 08-10-041 with the proposed language revisions are available in the CountyCommissioners and Public Works offices.
