Sheriff's Office K-9 & Deputy ~ Arros
The Sheridan County Sheriff's Office began it's K-9 program in October, 2003. Since that time, the Sheriff's Office K-9 has been used by law enforcement agencies and schools throughout Sheridan County for the continued prevention of illicit drug use in our county schools.
K-9 Deputy Mike Rogers, Sheriff Dave W. Hofmeier, & K-9 Aaros Aaros is the second K-9 to serve with the Sheridan County Sheriff's Office. Ronnie, who was our first K-9, retired in August 2007 following the discovery of a degenerative spinal disorder. |
Corporal Mike Rogers has been the Sheriff's Office K-9 Handler since the program's inception. Since that time, Corporal Rogers and his K-9 partners have been used throughout Sheridan County as an educational tool, an investigative aid, and for one search operation.
Our K-9 program is built on community involvement. Arros & Corporal Rogers will be seen in County Schools as a part of our D.A.R.E. program in an effort to keep illegal drugs out of our schools.
If you have any questions about our K-9 program, or if you would like to have a demonstration, please contact Corporal Rogers at 672-3455 or email the Sheriff's Office at sheriff@sheridancounty.com.
