Upon the recommendation of the Sheridan County Fire Warden and the Fire Chiefs of the Rural Fire Protection Districts, the Sheridan County Commissioners will rescind Resolution 15-08-016 therefore lifting the fire ban imposed July 31, 2015. Effective Thursday, November 5, 2015 at 6:00pm open burning will be allowed in Sheridan County.
As always, we encourage the public to practice sound safety measures when burning as the weather may turn warm again. The public should continue to be aware that burning should not be done on Red-Flag Warning Days or anticipated high wind days. It is important that you make the Sheridan Dispatch Center aware of when you are burning to prevent unnecessary callouts of the volunteer fire departments.
