County Commissioners Seeking Public Input on Previously Awarded Grant

PUBLIC NOTICE

The County Commissioners of the County of Sheridan is seeking public input and public comments on a previously awarded Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) application, regarding the Compass Center for Families renovation project before the project is officially closed out with the Wyoming Business Council.   The grant amount awarded to Sheridan County allocated toward the Compass Project was $500,000.

A public Hearing to take public testimony and solicit public opinion on this matter will be held on November 23, 2020 at 9:00 a.m., or as soon thereafter as possible in the Commission Chamber, second floor courthouse addition, 224 S. Main St., Sheridan, WY  82801.   Accommodations will be made for handicapped and non-English speaking minority individuals who wish to attend the Public Hearing.

CDBG projects are awarded based on their support of at least one of three National Objectives:

  1. Benefit to low and moderate income persons
  2. Aid in the prevention or elimination of slums or blight
  3. Activities designed to meet community development needs having a particular urgency.

The Wyoming Business Council administers the CDBG Program and lists the program rules and available funding on their web site at http://www.wyomingbusiness.org/cdbg.
