Civil Process papers are handled by our Records Division and are delivered by our dedicated Civil Process Server. The cost for service on all civil papers is $50.00. The Sheriff’s Office will attempt to serve the paper three times for that fee. An additional fee of $5.00 will be charged for each additional attempt at service.
If you have papers to be served by the Sheriff’s Office, please mail the papers to the Sheridan County Sheriff’s Office at 54 West 13th Street, Sheridan, Wyoming 82801. You must include a self addressed stamped envelope so that the service return may be sent to you. Please include any stipulations for your state that must be followed. Papers will not be served unless pre-payment is received.
The Sheriff’s Office can not accept personal checks. Money orders and cashiers checks are acceptable if mailed to the Sheriff’s Office. Only cash will be accepted if received in person at the Sheriff’s Office.
NOTICE:
Be sure to include biographical identifiers in your request for service. The Sheriff’s Office requires such information to ensure that the proper person is being served. If your request for service does not include at least a proper name and birth date, your request for service will be denied.
