As of today, there have been no new COVID-19 cases reported in Sheridan County. The Sheridan County IMT would like to remind the community how important it is to practice social distancing. Social distancing will help slow the spread of the virus.
- Social distancing means minimizing close contacts with people other than your immediate family members. Someone should not be in close contact (within 6 feet) with someone for longer than 10 minutes in a small room, small space, or across from tables or desks. This also includes outdoor activities.
- COVID-19 is considered transmissible up to 48 hours prior to the onset of symptoms. The standard person becomes symptomatic and may delay testing for at least a couple of days. It can then take up to 5 days for COVID-19 test results to return.
If everyone in our community is truly practicing appropriate social distancing and following established CDC guidelines, contact lists should be immediate household members and possibly a limited number of work colleagues.
If your contact list is more than what is stated above, YOU ARE NOT SOCIAL DISTANCING.
