...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 930 PM MDT THIS EVENING...

* WHAT...Small stream flooding caused by excessive rainfall is
expected.

* WHERE...A portion of north central Wyoming, including the
following county, Sheridan.

* WHEN...Until 930 PM MDT.

* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.
Rises in small streams and normally dry arroyos.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 334 PM MDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
thunderstorms up in the Bighorn Mountains. This will cause
small stream flooding downstream as water will rapidly flow
down the mountains. Between 1 and 2.5 inches of rain have
fallen.
- This includes the following streams and drainages...
The Big and Little Goose Creeks, Little Tongue River, and
their associated tributaries.
Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 2 inches are expected
over the Bighorn Mountains. This additional rain will result
in minor flooding.
- Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Sheridan, Ranchester, Dayton and Big Horn.
- Outdoor recreationists in the mountains will be impacted, as
that is where the heavy rain is occurring at.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles. Do not drive on or attempt to cross
flooded roads, find an alternate route. Roads and driveways may be
damaged or washed out in places.

Please report observed flooding to local emergency officials and
request they pass the information to the National Weather Service in
Billings.
